TATTOOED LEATHER
| No two pieces will ever be the same |
Each limited edition design is intricately detailed and hand-drawn with a tattoo machine. Inked in flowing lines in our signature geometric nature style. The lines are further enhanced by the use of traditional, decorative leather techniques. No two pieces will ever be the same.
| Decorative |
The decorative and detailed line-work is tattooed onto the leather (with a traditional tattoo machine) To bring out the line-work and beauty of the leather, leather working techniques are used (e.g. tooling & embossing) Each piece is hand finished by bevelling, dying and buffing the edges & surface. | Learn More |
I studied Fashion, Textiles & Embroidery & have always loved working with leather. I decided I wanted to draw onto leather & then created my own unique process, which enables me to tattoo onto natural full grain (vegetable tanned) leather. I refined the process over many years. I create my art with a tattoo machine (& a single needle) It is quite a nail biting experience, as the tattoo machine is prone to spraying ink everywhere, at any given moment. And, as I keep the leather in its most natural state (with no chemicals) any ink spray won’t come off the leather!
This problem, lead me to having to be very careful. I decided to embrace working in this careful & precise way. It became the catalyst to me developing my precise & intricate drawing style. The tattooed lines are further enhanced by the use of traditional & decorative leather working techniques. I prefer to use black ink, as I love the contrast with the natural hide. Commissions welcome. A selection of panels can also be found in the store.
