I have a hundreds of design which have been created since 2014. Most of them I haven't yet managed to get around to sharing on line.


I am trying to rectify this in 2020, but looking through the archives and posting a few here and there!

The mandala designs are created to lock together & sit from groin to neck. (Root, Sacral, Solar, Heart , Throat) But they can equally work as individual designs.



| Symbolism |Chakra is a Sanskrit word-meaning circle or wheel. Chakras are subtle energy centres, which rise up along the spine. They represent the mind, body and spirit. They consist of Root (I am), Sacral (I feel), Solar (I do), Heart (I love), Throat (I speak), Third eye (I see), Crown (I understand) | 



| Symbolism | Chakras are associated with specific geometric shapes or symbols, they each have a specific number of petals, or a specific colour.




Each mandala includes its relevant geometric shape.

Throat

The THROAT (Truth & Harmony) Chakra is the 5th Chakra & is often depicted with a triangle with a circle inside, alongside a circle with sixteen petals. It is also associated with a dodecahedron. The most common Sanskrit name for the Throat chakra is “Vishudda”, which means “pure” or “purification”. The Throat chakra is most commonly represented with the colour turquoise or aquamarine blue or purple.

Heart

The HEART (Love & Compassion) Chakra is located in the central channel of the spine , centre of the chest, near the heart. The heart Chakra is the 4th Chakra & is often depicted as a lotus flower with 12 petals. It is also associated with a 6 pointed star. The most common Sanskrit name for the Heart chakra is 'Anahata' , which means unhurt, un-struck, and unbeaten”. It is associated with balance, calmness & serenity, alongside compassion, love & beauty The Heart chakra is most commonly represented with the colour green. It is said to bridge earthly and spiritual aspirations. Its elemental symbol is air.

Solar

The SOLAR (Balance & Energy) Chakra is located in the solar plexus area (upper part of the belly, where your diaphragm rests). The Solar Chakra is the 3rd Chakra & is often depicted as a lotus flower with 10 petals. It is also associated with a Tetrahedron. The most common Sanskrit name for the Solar chakra is Manipura, which means "city of jewels", "resplendent gem" , "lustrous gem". It is associated with the power of transformation & assertion. It is often characterised by the expression of will, personal power, and mental abilities. The Solar chakra is most "commonly represented with the colour yellow. It is said to bridge earthly and spiritual aspirations. Its elemental symbol is fire.

Sacral


The SACRAL (Creativity & Movement) Chakra most common location is about three inches below the navel, at the centre of the lower belly. In the back, it’s located at the level of the lumbar vertebrae. The Sacral Chakra is the 2nd Chakra & is often depicted as a lotus flower with 6 petals. The six petals represent the following modes of consciousness, also known as Vrittis (whirlpool) : affection, pitilessness, feeling of all-destructiveness, delusion, disdain, and suspicion.It is associated with the lymphatic system, sense of taste and with reproductive function. It is associated primarily with emotional responses and regulation and is often referred to as the seat of emotions. It is also associated with sensuality and creativity, pleasure, sense of oneself, relationships, sensuality and procreation. The most common Sanskrit name for the Sacral chakra is Swadhisthana, which "Swa" means self and "adhishthana"means established. The Sacral chakra is most commonly represented with the colour Orange. Its elemental symbol is water . This chakra is said to be blocked by fear or guilt, especially the fear of death.

Root


The ROOT (Grounded & Structure) Chakra is located at the base of the spine. The corresponding body locations are the perineum, along the first three vertebrae, at the pelvic plexus. The Root Chakra is the 1st Chakra & is often depicted as a lotus flower with 4 petals. It is also associated with the Cube. The most common Sanskrit name for the Root chakra is Mūlādhāra, which means 'root and basis of existence' . As it is the base chakra, it is associated with the feeling of safety and grounding. It is also associated with security, safety, survival, basic needs (food, sleep, shelter, self-preservation, etc.), physicality. The Root chakra is most commonly represented with the colour Red. Its elemental symbol is the earth.




Note ; The Third eye or Crown chakra is not included in this design


 

The THIRD EYE (Wisdom & Insight) Chakra is located on the forehead, between the eyebrows. The Third Eye Chakra is the 6th Chakra & is often depicted as a lotus flower with 2 petals (one represents the moon and the other, the sun). It is the centre of intuition and foresight. It is associated with the principle of openness and imagination. The most common Sanskrit name for the Third Eye chakra is Ajna, which means 'supreme element', 'command' or 'monitoring centre'. It is associated with the pineal gland in charge of regulating biorhythms, including sleep and wake time. It is positioned close to the optical nerves, and as such, sensitive to visual stimulations and changes in lighting. The Third Eye chakra is most commonly represented with the colour purple or bluish purple. The image of the Third Eye chakra symbol contains two elements frequently associated with wisdom: the upside down triangle and the lotus flower. It is supposedly a part of the brain which can be made more powerful through meditation, yoga and other spiritual practice. The third eye chakra is said to connect people to their intuition, give them the ability to communicate with the world, or help them receive messages from the past and the future. Its elemental symbol is light.




The CROWN (Spirit) Chakra is located at the top of the head or slightly above the head. It represents purity & simplicity. The Crown Chakra is the 7th Chakra & is often depicted as a lotus flower with one thousand, or even an infinite number of petals. It is associated with bright white and golden light and with the element of pure light. It tells us to understand. The Crown chakra is primarily associated to the pituitary gland. & is therefore is closely associated with the brain and the whole nervous system. It is the Chakra of self-transcendence, loss of ego-boundaries and connection with the infinite source of life. The most common Sanskrit name for the Crown chakra is 'Sahasrara', which means 'thousand-petaled'. The Crown chakra is most commonly represented with the colour colour white, although it can also be depicted as deep purple. Its elemental symbol is the Cosmos. Pure light and source of creation. This chakra allows access to the upmost clarity and enlightened wisdom.
