All my work is packed with symbolism, whether it be hidden or in a more obvious form.
Here is one that you will find in my art.
| GINKGO |
• Ginkgo trees have an incredibly long lifespan, attributed in part due to their remarkable resistance to disease and pests. Some specimens are reportedly more than 3,000 years old. Ginkgo is the oldest surviving species of tree known to exist.
• In Japanese decorative art, the ginkgo's symbolise beauty: It also represents profound endurance (four Ginkgo’s survived the blast at Hiroshima and are still growing today)
• It has become a symbol of strength, hope and peace for many.
• The tree appears throughout Chinese culture and is associated with an optimistic view of the future.
The ginkgo has a distinctive fan-shaped leaf & symbolises the importance of yin and yang.
